Tokoname ware teapots contain a high level of iron, and it is said that this iron content makes the flavor of the tea mellower.
While most teapots are round in shape, this teapot has been made low and flat in order to draw out the maximum flavor of the tea leaves. It represents the ultimate form designed for optimal tea extraction.
Because of its wide diameter, the tea leaves can open fully and more quickly, allowing them to spread well and produce a richer, more delicious infusion.
Even with a smaller amount of hot water, the tea leaves spread easily, making it easier to extract their full flavor.
Since the tea leaves open faster and more fully, this teapot can also be used for “mizudashi reicha” (cold-brewed green tea).
“Mizudashi reicha” refers to sencha brewed with water instead of hot water. By not using hot water, the bitter components of the tea are suppressed, resulting in a sencha with enhanced sweetness and umami.
With a capacity of 190 cc, it is designed to pour a single serving completely.
Using a metal strainer can affect the flavor of the tea due to a metallic taste. Therefore, a finely crafted ceramic tea strainer is attached inside the spout.
Both this tea strainer and the teapot body itself are entirely handmade, created by pouring the refined skills of an experienced craftsman into every detail.
In addition, since the diameter of the opening and the base are almost the same, the inside of the teapot is easy to wash and dry, allowing it to remain clean and hygienic at all times.
Made from black clay, the design is simple and monochromatic. However, countless fine lines are meticulously carved into the sides of the body and the lid, requiring significant time and effort.
The lid is made slightly heavier and fitted precisely to prevent it from slipping, and the spout is designed to minimize dripping.
Carefully designed down to the smallest detail, this is truly an “ultimate teapot” that can be used for many years without ever becoming tiresome.

常滑烧的急须因含有丰富的铁分,
据说能够使茶汤的口感更加圆润柔和。
大多数急须为圆形,但为了最大限度地引出茶叶的滋味,
这款急须被制作成低矮扁平的形状,
呈现出“究极形态”的设计。
由于直径较大,茶叶能够最大程度、更加迅速地舒展开来,
展开充分,滋味更佳,
从而能够更美味地萃取茶汤。
即使注入的热水较少,茶叶也容易舒展,
更容易充分释放茶叶本身的风味。
因为茶叶能够更快、更大幅度地展开,
也可用于制作「冷泡茶」。
所谓「冷泡茶」,是指用冷水冲泡的煎茶。
由于不使用热水,可以抑制茶中的苦涩成分,
使煎茶呈现出更多的甘甜与鲜旨滋味。
容量为190cc,适合一次性倒出一人份的茶量。
若使用金属滤网,金属气味可能会影响茶汤的味道,
因此在壶嘴内侧安装了陶制的精巧滤网。

壶盖为防止脱落而制作得略为厚重且严丝合缝,
