Craftsman Suiun Made Red Chrysanthemum Carved Wooden Cyu-natsume, Urushi Lacquer
Introducing a Cyu-natsume (middle-sized tea container) carved by the traditional craftsman and inlay artist, Seki Suiun.
The Cyu-natsume is a tea container used for thin tea, and it is said to have received its name due to its resemblance to the fruit of the jujube tree.
Smaller than the larger natsume, it is called “cyu-natsume” because of its size.
This particular natsume has been crafted using the same technique as “chinkin” (inlay carving). On a wooden, black-lacquered tea container, the inlay artist carefully carves patterns into the surface using a needle-like tool. Then, raw lacquer is applied into the carved grooves, followed by the application of red lacquer, which causes the design to emerge in relief.
The carving covers nearly the entire surface, and the intricate detail of the needle carvings requires painstaking effort and advanced skill to achieve.
The chrysanthemum pattern in red lacquer appears to rise from the surface, creating a beautiful, almost three-dimensional effect.

传统工艺师翠云作 朱菊雕刻 中棗 木制 漆涂
这是由传统工艺师兼沉金师关翠云所雕刻的中棗介绍。
中棗是用来盛放薄茶的茶具，因其形状与植物的棗果相似，所以得名。
由于其比大棗小巧，因此被称为中棗。
这款中棗采用与沉金相同的技法制作。
在木制漆涂的黑色素面茶器上，沉金师以針雕工艺一刀一刀雕刻出精美的纹样，并将生漆填入雕刻的沟槽中，再将朱色漆料擦入其中，使得雕刻的图案浮现出来。
几乎整个表面都进行了精细的针雕，极其细致，这样大量的雕刻需要耗费极大的工夫和高超的技艺。
茶具表面浮现出朱色的菊花图案，呈现出精美的立体效果。
