主に茶道で使う道具で、花所望を行う時や
花入に花を生ける場合に用いる木地の足付台です。
この上に、生ける花と水注と小刀をのせて、床の間などに
花を生けて整えます。
杉木地は利休形で、綴じ目を向こう側にして使うことになっています。
国産の杉材の柾目のみを使った高品質な花台です。
非常に軽く、花や道具をのせる部分は「へぎ目」のような
凹凸が付けられています。
茶道以外でも様々な用途に使えそうな道具です。

Made in Japan – Japanese Cedar Flower Stand – Rikyu Style
This is a wooden pedestal with legs, mainly used in tea ceremony when performing hana-syomou or when arranging flowers in a hanaire (flower vase).
The flowers to be arranged, along with a mizusashi (water container) and a small knife, are placed on this stand while preparing the flower arrangement in the tokonoma alcove.
The cedar base follows the Rikyu style, and when in use the jointed seam should be positioned facing outward (away from the host).
This is a high-quality flower stand made entirely from straight-grain Japanese domestic cedar.
It is extremely lightweight, and the surface on which flowers and utensils are placed has a textured finish resembling hegime (split-grain carving).
Although designed for the tea ceremony, it is a tool that can be used for many other purposes as well.
