This is an introduction to a Banko-ware rice donabe designed to cook delicious rice.
This donabe is made exclusively for cooking rice, allowing you to enjoy rice at home with the same flavor as rice cooked in a traditional kamado stove.
Inside the pot, water level marks for 2 cups and 3 cups are provided, allowing accurate measurement even without a measuring cup.
The interior is shaped to promote strong convection, enabling even heating and allowing the rice to cook more deliciously.
A donabe heats slowly over direct flame, allowing the heat to gradually penetrate the ingredients and draw out their natural umami and sweetness.
In addition to the heat from the flame at the base, the clay’s far-infrared effect warms the entire interior, ensuring that heat reaches the core of each grain and producing fluffy, tender rice.
Once heated, a donabe does not cool quickly, allowing you to use residual heat after turning off the flame to let the rice steam thoroughly, enhancing the final texture.
For cooking 2 cups of rice, heat over medium-strong heat for about 10 minutes.
Once it comes to a boil, reduce to low heat for 3 minutes, turn off the heat, and let it steam for about 20 minutes to finish.
You can easily and effortlessly cook delicious rice.
Soaking the rice in water for about 30 minutes before cooking will make it even tastier.
Adjust the heating and steaming times slightly according to your preference.
