Kiyomizu Ware – Handmade Irabo Clay Dobin Mushi Pot with Stand
Introducing a handmade Dobin Mushi pot crafted in the Irabo style from Kiyomizu ware.
This piece is wheel-thrown using coarse clay rich in iron. The name Irabo is said to come from the rough, gritty texture one feels when touching it, and from the uneven, bumpy surface of the glaze that evokes a slightly “irritated” look (ira-ira).
Because traditional Irabo ware was originally made as unglazed stoneware, it often features a warm, brownish tone and a subdued, rustic charm that reflects the spirit of wabi.
This Dobin Mushi pot is shaped like a small earthenware casserole, allowing plenty of ingredients to be added. Its wide mouth makes it easy to eat from and clean, offering both practicality and good hygiene.
Each piece is entirely handmade. The pot and saucer retain the natural wheel marks, and their refined, well-balanced forms could never be achieved with a mold.

这是一件来自清水烧的伊罗保手工制作的土瓶蒸。
以富含铁分的粗陶土在拉坯机上成形制作而成。
据说“伊罗保”这一名称,源于其釉面触感粗糙、表面呈现如颗粒般凹凸不平、令人感到“刺刺”的独特质感。
由于最初多采用烧结技法制作,因此作品多呈茶褐色,具有一种古朴寂寥的独特风情。
这款土瓶蒸呈土锅形状,容量较大,可盛放丰富的食材。
壶口较宽,方便取食、易于清洗,兼具实用性与卫生性。
整件作品均为手工制作,受盘与壶体底部可见拉坯纹理,形态端正而富于手作的温度,是模具制品无法表现的工艺之美。
