一文字に断ち切った形をいいます。
茶器の場合は蓋が浅く、ほとんど一文字に近い形になっています。
木製の木地に溜色のうるしを塗り、シンプルに仕上がっています。
蓋の表面には菊の柄が金と赤で描かれており、豪華で荘厳な雰囲気が出ています。
溜色の大人しい色合いと金と赤の菊が、気品のある雰囲気が出ています。
表千家の而妙斎の好みと言われています。

Yamanaka Lacquerware – Wooden “Zungiri” Tea Caddy with Chrysanthemum Design – Jimyōsai-gonomi
This is a wooden zungiri tea caddy crafted in Yamanaka lacquerware.
The term zungiri (also written atamagiri, “head cut”) refers to a form in which the upper part of a thin tea caddy or a flower vase is cut straight across in a single horizontal line. In the case of a tea caddy, the lid is shallow, creating a nearly flat, linear silhouette.
The wooden base is finished in subdued tame-nuri lacquer, giving it a simple and refined appearance. On the surface of the lid, a chrysanthemum motif is depicted in gold and red, imparting a sense of luxury and solemn elegance.
The harmony between the quiet tone of the tame lacquer and the vivid gold and red chrysanthemums creates an atmosphere of dignity and refinement. This style is said to have been favored by Jimyōsai, head of the Omotesenke school.
