Introducing large vermilion tea saucers in Yamanaka lacquerware, carved from solid wood.
Although described as chataku (tea saucers), their diameter of 16.5 cm makes them closer to underplates. Rather than for standard teacups, they seem suitable for small matcha bowls, coffee cups, mugs, or as underplates for chawan-mushi (savory custard) or dessert bowls.
Because there is ample space around the cup when placed on the saucer, there is room for a spoon, creamer, sugar, or other small items.
The natural cedar wood grain is left visible, with raised ridges and striations that create a sculptural texture. Each piece has its own distinct appearance, allowing one to enjoy the individuality of the wood.
The rims stand upright, helping to prevent items from slipping or falling during service. The recessed central area provides a stable resting place for the vessel.
Viewed from beneath, the rim is set slightly higher than the base, creating a gap that allows fingers to slide underneath easily when lifting. The result is an uncommon piece of lacquerware distinguished by its special size, form, and texture.

山中漆 木制 一体挖制 杉木纹 茶托 朱色 大号 五件组
本次介绍的是山中漆所制之木制一体挖制朱色大号茶托。
虽称为茶托，但直径达16.5cm，更接近垫碟或受盘的器形。
似乎更适合搭配小型抹茶碗、咖啡杯、马克杯这类容量较大的器物，亦可作为茶碗蒸或甜点碗的受盘使用。
器物置于其上时，周围留有较大空隙，可方便摆放汤匙、奶球、砂糖等小物件。
保留天然杉木木纹，凹凸纹理立体，各件风貌皆不同，可欣赏其个性与木味。
口沿略立，可在端取时防止上置之器倾覆或滑落。
高台设有安置处，使用稳定。
翻至底部可见，器之口沿高于底部接触面，便于将手指伸入器底，从而轻松提起。
此器尺寸与器形、木纹风致均较少见，可谓别具一格的漆器。
