Black plain lacquer is used in formal settings such as weddings, funerals, and when receiving important guests. Rather than for everyday use, it carries a strong sense of formality.
These tea saucers have a slightly elevated foot, and the area on which the teacup rests is finished with a double-stepped rim.
While the overall form of the saucers is flat and simple, both the wooden base and the lacquer finish are of high quality.
