壺屋焼から上江洲 茂生 作の花瓶のご紹介です。
壺屋焼は沖縄の焼物です。
この花瓶は、アジアの南国の雰囲気が混じっており、沖縄独特の雰囲気があります。
全体は茶色の釉薬がかかっており、波や魚の文様が彫られており
本土の焼物とは明らかに異なる柄が付けられています。
焼く前に彫られて文様を付けられたものと、焼いた後に表面を削り
艶消しの風合いを出す技法も使われています。
表面の艶消しになっている部分が削られた箇所です。
ほぼ全面に彫りや削りが施されていますが、一色なので花の邪魔をしません。
口の部分はなぜか緑色に窯変しており、一つの特徴となっています。
アジア南方の雰囲気がもつ、数少ない花瓶といえます。

Tsuboya Ware – Vase by Shigeo Uezu
Introducing a vase by Shigeo Uezu, crafted in Tsuboya ware.
Tsuboya ware is traditional pottery from Okinawa.
This vase conveys a distinctive Okinawan character infused with a touch of tropical Asian atmosphere. The entire surface is covered with a brown glaze, decorated with carved motifs of waves and fish—patterns clearly different from those seen in mainland Japanese pottery.
Some of the designs were carved into the clay before firing, while others were created after firing by shaving the surface to achieve a matte finish. The matte-textured areas on the surface are where the clay has been shaved away.
Although carving and shaving techniques cover most of the surface, the use of a single color ensures that the decoration does not compete with the flowers placed within.
The rim of the vase has undergone kiln-induced color variation, turning green and providing a distinctive highlight.
This is a rare type of vase that embodies the atmosphere of the southern regions of Asia.

瓶口部分因窑变而呈现出绿色，
成为此器的一大特色。
可谓是极少数带有东南亚氛围的花瓶之一。
