信楽の名物茶碗である、「花橘」を写して作られた
抹茶碗のご紹介です。
もとは小堀遠州所持で「昔をば花橘のなかりせば何につけてか
思ひいでまし」と書き付けています。
小堀遠州所持以後の伝来は不詳ですが、明治に入って
赤星弥之助が所持上野与吉を経て、藤田家に入ったようです。
本歌は薄作りで筆洗形、外部はろくろ目が細かくめぐり、
高台は四角で三方切割り、青釉のなだれが3筋あり、
見事な釉溜まりとなっています。
内側のビードロ釉は厚く、光沢があります。
本歌をできる限り再現しておりますが、若干の差異は
あると思われます。
400年以上前に、こうした珍しい茶碗が考案されて作られ、
実際に使われ現代に伝わっていることは素晴らしいことです。
珍しい茶碗を見ながら、小堀遠州の気持ちになって
お茶を頂いたり話題に出して会話をすることも
一興ではないでしょうか。

Shigaraki Ware – Sahei Kiln – Matcha Bowl by Takakazu – “Hana Tachibana Utsushi”
Introducing a matcha bowl crafted in the Shigaraki tradition, faithfully reproducing the renowned “Hana Tachibana” tea bowl.
The original tea bowl was once owned by Kobori Enshū, who inscribed it with a famous poetic verse:
“Mukashi oba hana tachibana no nakariseba nani ni tsukete ka omoiidemashi”
(“If in the past there had been no Hana Tachibana, what then would have brought memories to mind?”)
While the provenance of the tea bowl after Enshū’s ownership remains unknown, historical records suggest that in the Meiji era, it passed into the hands of Yanosuke Akaboshi, then Yoshikichi Ueno, and eventually became part of the Fujita family collection.
Features of the Original Tea Bowl (“Honka”)
The original Hana Tachibana tea bowl is thinly crafted, with a fude-arai (brush-washing basin) shape.
The exterior displays fine wheel marks circling the surface.
The foot (kōdai) is square-shaped, with three distinctly cut sections.
The three streaks of flowing blue glaze (seiyū) form stunning pools of glaze at the base.
The inner surface is coated in thick, glossy bidoro glaze, enhancing its elegance.
This reproduction has been crafted to closely resemble the original, though slight variations may exist.
It is truly remarkable that such a unique tea bowl was conceived, created, and used over 400 years ago, and that it continues to be appreciated today.
Enjoying matcha from this bowl while reflecting on Kobori Enshū’s aesthetic vision, or using it as a conversation piece during a tea gathering, would surely be a delightful experience.

信乐烧 佐平窑 隆和 作 抹茶碗 花橘写
介绍一款以信乐烧名物茶碗“花橘”为蓝本制作的抹茶碗。
原本的“花橘”抹茶碗曾为小堀远州所藏，并题有和歌：「昔をば 花橘の なかりせば 何につけてか 思ひいでまし」 （意为：倘若没有花橘，我又能借何物忆往昔）。
其后传承不详，但据考证，在明治时期由赤星弥之助持有，经上野与吉之手，最终传入藤田家。
原作茶碗胎体轻薄，形似笔洗，外部带有细腻的拉坯纹，高台呈四方形，并在三处进行切削，碗身上有三道青釉流淌形成的釉溜，极为精美。
内侧施以厚重的玻璃釉，质感润泽且富有光泽。
此款作品尽可能忠实再现了本歌（原作），但仍可能存在些许差异。
400 多年前，此类珍贵的茶碗便已被巧思设计、匠心烧制，并流传至今，实属难得。
欣赏此珍贵茶碗的同时，不妨想象小堀远州当年使用此碗的心境，边品茗边谈论其故事，也是一种别具一格的乐趣。
