Introducing the handmade Mino ware rectangular serving platter.
This platter is crafted from black clay using the “tatara” technique and coated with a hakeme (white slip) glaze.
The “tatara” technique involves shaping clay that has been flattened into a board-like form. It is worked by hand, kneading and rolling the refined clay flat, and then cutting it into the required shape with a spatula.
The platter is handcrafted, which requires considerable effort. Although the glaze is simple with only a hakeme finish, the exposed black clay reveals natural imperfections such as pinholes, crackling, and drips, giving the piece a rustic pottery feel.
The understated white color enhances any dish and presents it elegantly.
The rectangular platter has elevated corners and edges, allowing it to hold dishes with a certain amount of liquid.
The low four feet provide stability and add a special touch.
It can accommodate a generous amount of food, making it suitable for both Japanese and Western dishes. Its stylish design also complements modern homes.

美浓烧 粉引 手工制作 长方盛盘

“たたら”是一种将陶土板状材料加以应用的成型技术,通过手工捏制平整的陶土,并用刮刀切割成所需形状。

虽然只使用了粉引釉料,设计简约,但黑土在部分地方显现出,表面有针孔和裂纹,釉料流动的痕迹显示了土器质朴的氛围。
