Mino-yaki Ichiigama Kobiki Matsuba Matcha Bowl
Introducing a Matsuba matcha bowl from Mino-yaki.
Shaped from brown clay on a potter’s wheel, this bowl is coated with a powdered white glaze.
Red speckles, known as Gohon, appear sporadically on the white surface, creating a natural landscape effect.
The interior and exterior of the bowl feature hand-painted pine needles in red, blue, and gray, resulting in a vibrant color palette.
The bowl has a rounded shape, and particularly on the exterior, you can see the traces of the wheel, highlighting its handmade quality.
It has a natural color and a sturdy thickness, giving it a substantial feel.
The pine needles symbolize marital harmony, as they remain connected even when the leaves fall, representing a bond that does not separate.
Pine trees are evergreens, maintaining their green foliage throughout the year, making this bowl suitable for any season. However, if viewed as fallen leaves, it evokes the autumn and winter seasons.
During the Edo period, the Matsuba pattern was exclusive to the shogunate, making it a design of high status.
Dimensions: Mouth Diameter 12 cm, Height 8 cm.

松树是常绿树,四季常青,因此适合在任何季节使用,但若视作落叶,则与秋冬的落叶季节相关联。
在江户时代,松叶图案曾是将军家独享的纹样,松的花纹可谓是高贵的象征之一。
