The cylindrical part is decorated with horizontal lines painted in iron on the white body, and the bottom features fine vertical carvings, all coated with Oribe glaze, reflecting considerable craftsmanship.
The wheel axle has a shape that radiates toward the center of a circle, symbolizing tranquility and harmony in the tea ceremony. Since the spirit of tea ceremony values inner harmony and serenity, the form of the wheel axle may reflect that philosophy.
