Kiyomizuyaki Teapot for Sencha by Seishō, Featuring the “Seven Bowls of Tea Song”
This is an introduction to a teapot for brewing sencha, made in Kiyomizuyaki, a renowned style of Kyoto pottery.
This teapot is designed specifically for pouring high-quality teas, such as gyokuro, which are commonly used in the Japanese tea ceremony.
The teapot is crafted from white porcelain and features a poem titled “Seven Bowls of Tea Song” by the Chinese poet Lu Tong (Lu Tong), inscribed on its surface.
Lu Tong, a poet from the late Tang dynasty, composed this poem when he was gifted the finest, freshly harvested tea by his friend Meng Jianyi, a gesture worthy of an imperial offering. The poem reads as follows:
One bowl moistens the throat and lips,
Two bowls dissolve solitude and sorrow.
Three bowls clear the bowels and stir the spirit,
For the mind, five thousand scrolls of wisdom are contained in them.
Four bowls release a light sweat,
Dispelling all the daily troubles, scattering through the pores.
Five bowls purify the skin and bones,
Six bowls connect the drinker to the divine spirits.
Seven bowls, reaching a state of enlightenment,
I feel as though I am transported by the breeze to the immortal mountain of Penglai,
And long to return home, riding the gentle winds of this clarity.
In the poem, the progression of the bowls represents a journey of physical and spiritual cleansing, from the refreshing sensation of the first bowl to the transcendence and enlightenment of the seventh.
The teapot itself has a rounded shape, is compact, thin, and light, exuding a delicate and refined atmosphere. Its craftsmanship demonstrates exceptional skill in pottery.
The lid’s knob is shaped like a flower, making it easy to handle, and adds an elegant touch, making this teapot a truly luxurious piece.

清水烧 清昌作 煎茶用急壶 七碗茶歌
这是一款来自清水烧的煎茶用急壶。
该急壶专为泡制玉露等高级茶叶而设计，适用于煎茶道中使用。
壶身采用白瓷质地，装饰有盧仝（罗同）的《七碗茶歌》。
盧仝是唐代末期的中国诗人，这首《七碗茶歌》是在他从朋友孟谏议那里收到帝王献上的顶级新茶时所作。
歌中写道：
一碗喉吻润，一碗破孤闷，
三碗枯肠透，只有五千卷文字。
四碗轻汗出，平时不平之事，
皆随毛孔散尽。五碗肌骨清，
六碗通仙灵，七碗难以言喻，
只觉两腋清风习习，
蓬莱山何处？欲乘清风归去。

第二杯，破除孤寂之感；
第三杯，感动之情满溢，言语如同从肠胃流出；
第四杯，汗水和日常积压的烦恼随之释放；
第五杯，浑身清爽，心神愉悦；
第六杯，仿佛与仙人相通，心境超然；
第七杯，达至忘我境界，仿佛被清风送至蓬莱仙山，渴望归隐。
